CSA Pickups Start Next Week!
Share
Hello and welcome to the 2026 Summer CSA! Please read through the following information, it tells you when CSA pickups start, parking information, and other important things. I know a lot of you are new here this year, and I'm so glad you joined. If you have any questions after reading this email, for non-urgent questions please feel free to contact me through email, or text me on the farm phone at 802-727-7187 for things that you need to know right away. I'm often working in the farm fields which don't get great service, so I will text you back as soon as I see your message.
CSA pickups will start the week of June 24 for most people, but not for everyone. If you purchased a Taste Tester Tiny Share, you will be picking up every other week starting the week of July 1. If you can't remember which size share you purchased, message me and I will look it up for you.
Pickups are Wednesday afternoons from 2-6 and Saturday mornings from 9-12:30. You don't have to tell me which day you'll be picking up, just show up in one of those two timeframes and you can get your vegetables. I will send out a reminder email about CSA pickups every Tuesday afternoon with the date and times of pickups, and list of veggies that will be available, as well as recipes and a little bit of farm news.
Please park in the grass parking lot near the roadside greenhouse, unless you need a shorter walk. Then please feel free to use the house driveway. Be mindful that there are often children running around as you drive in and out. From your parking spot, walk to the big barn. This is where the farmstand will be set up.
The Eureka Organic Farm CSA is free choice, which means that you will come in, tell your name to the farmstand attendant (usually me, but sometimes one of my workers), and they will tell you how many vegetables you can take home that day. You get to choose which types you want that week. The first few weeks of the farmstand will be a smaller amount of vegetables as I get my fields to where they need to be, but the size of your share will increase as the growing season goes on. Bring your reusable bags to take home your veggies! I will have bags available here for you in case you forget.
If you don't know how to use one of the vegetables in your share, ask the farmstand attendant or one of the other CSA members. Many CSA members have been with the CSA since Eureka Organic Farm's first year, and most of us love to talk about vegetables. After all, half the fun of CSA is the community aspect.
I will have other local items for sale in the farmstand. These may be fruit, meats, cheeses, bread pantry items, and other things from local farmers and producers, or eggs from my flock, I accept cash, check, card, and Venmo if you're looking for something else to round out your meals. As we get into the farm season, the farmstand will be open to walk-in customers as well as CSA members, but not for these first few weeks of pickups.
I'm sold out of CSA shares for the season, but I am looking for one more barter share worker this year, which means someone who can work one weekday morning per week in exchange for veggies all summer. If you know someone who might be interested, send them my way!
Have I covered everything? I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this season! We're going to have a good year.
See you soon,
Christine
