Oh my goodness do we have news for you! We've been busy this month preparing for farm season, and here are some things you definitely won't want to miss.
One that we're most excited about is that we'll be teaching classes regularly throughout the year, starting this Saturday, February 1 with a Make Your Own Fire Cider class at the Springfield Food Co-op. This class is led by Christine, and participants will learn how to make a warming, tasty, infused vinegar cold and flu remedy, and bring home a quart of their own plus the know-how to make more for future cold and flu seasons. If you'd like to sign up for this or any other class we have scheduled so far, please check out our website here. Tuition is $30 and Co-op members receive an additional discount on the class using the coupon code you will find in store.
For those of you who are growing your own gardens this year, we're also holding a seedling sale pre-order on our website so you can get healthy, stocky, farm-grown seedlings for yourself. We've updated our website with the varieties available, plus we're able to grow just about any vegetable if you don't see what you want. Just let us know! Pre-orders close on March 15, please sign up early as we're not planning on holding an in-person sale this year.
And finally, if you've been waiting to purchase a CSA share then now's the time. We're already halfway sold out of CSA shares for the year and we're not even out of January! This is incredible, and shows us that there are a whole crowd of local folks who love fresh food as much as we do. It looks like we'll be meeting our goal of selling out early, so please don't wait to sign up for your CSA share if you haven't done so already.
And finally, we've created a YouTube channel for anyone looking to delve more into the ins and outs of our farmstead or starting your own homestead. It's early days yet for our channel but our content is regularly scheduled. You can check us out here.
We will see you very soon!
Christine and Seth
