I took a few minutes this weekend to show you how I process fennel for cooking and freezing. Any time I have a veggie like this, I try to touch it once so that I'm not cluttering my fridge with leftover odds and ends that need further steps. In this case, I cut up the fennel bulbs for roasting and then chop the tops for freezing.

When onions are done growing in the field, their tops fall over. With her onion harvest today we pulled many little ones that were done growing. Instead of punching them like we did with the big ones, I took off the tops, so we could group them in pint boxes for you all. And since some of the tops were still good, I took them into my kitchen, so I could dry them and make them into onion powder
